Ada — Ada native and Miss Oklahoma 2009, Taylor Treat, will be making an appearance at this year’s homecoming parade for East Central University, Evelyn Martin of the Miss Ada Pageant said.Treat, a 2005 graduate from Ada High School, is a senior human relations major at the University of Oklahoma.“During her years at the university Taylor was a four-year member of the OU Pom Squad, and was named the 2008-09 captain,” a press release from the Miss Ada Pageant said.“She was an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and served as an executive officer. Taylor was selected to be in the prestigious President’s Leadership Class and has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Honor Roll for her scholastic achievement.”Treat is an accomplished dancer and choreographer, the release said, receiving her first training from the Central Oklahoma Dance Center in Ada.She will compete in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas on Jan. 30, 2010.Treat has created many community events including “Project Ignition” in Ada and “Bowling with the Queens,” which has raised more than $4,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network over the past two years, the release said.Treat is a proponent of Service-Learning in schools.Justin Lofton Staff Writer
