Miss America Community Service and Scholar Awards

The Miss America Community Service Award was presented during the Kiwanis Club luncheon on Monday, June 6,2011 to Heather Harris, Miss Grand Lake. This award is part of the Miss America Organization’s endeavor to assist in the expansion of scholarship provision throughout the state and local programs. Each state receives a scholarship for a contestant demonstrating exemplary community service initiatives.

The Miss America Scholar Award was presented to Sarah Jensen, Miss Collinsville. The Miss America Scholar Award was established in 1998 as part of the Miss America Organization’s initiative to increase scholarship giving at the state and local levels. An award is offered to one woman in each state, competing at the state level, for academic excellence.
