Kelsey Griswold Crowned Miss Oklahoma 2013

Kelsey Griswold, age 20, was crowned Miss Oklahoma 2013 on Saturday, June 8 at the Mabee Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This was Griswold’s first year competing at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant. She will receive a $16,000 scholarship for winning Miss Oklahoma. Griswold was a preliminary talent and preliminary swimsuit winner. She performed the vocal selection, “Everybody Says Don’t” for her talent. Her platform is A.R.T. – Artists Reaching Together. Kelsey will compete at the Miss America Pageant on September 15, 2013 in Atlantic City, NJ. She attends Oklahoma City University. Her local title was Miss Bricktown.

First Runner up, Alexandra Eppler, Miss Edmond Liberty Fest will receive a $7,000 scholarship. Eppler, age 22, performed a dance to “Wonderland.” Her platform is Dare 2 Care: Random Acts of Kindness. Eppler was also awarded a $3,000 scholarship for the Esther Award and a $1,000 scholarship for the Kiwanis Community Service Award. Eppler is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma.

Second Runner up, Georgia Frazier, Miss Oklahoma State Fair will receive a $4,000 scholarship. Frazier, age 21 attends Oral Roberts University. Her talent was a vocal performance, “I Dreamed a Dream.” Frazier’s platform is F.L.A.G. – Cervical Cancer Awareness. Frazier also received a $1,000 scholarship as First Runner up for the Kiwanis Community Service Award. Frazier was a preliminary swimsuit winner.

Third Runner up, Sarah Klein, Miss Frontier Country will receive a $3,000 scholarship. Klein, age 21 is a senior at the University of Oklahoma. She performed classical piano, “Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.” Klein was a preliminary talent winner and a preliminary swimsuit winner. Her platform is Learning through Serving. Klein received the Miss America Community Service Award and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Klein was also a Kiwanis Community Service Award Finalist.

Fourth Runner up, Tawnie Goodwin, Miss Okmulgee County will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Goodwin, age 22, attends Northeastern State University. Her platform is Fit Kids Healthy Nation: Nutrition Education for Adolescents. She performed contemporary piano, ” Nostradamus.”
