Miss Oklahoma Family and Friends,
Many of you are aware of the recent severe weather in Oklahoma, which has caused flooding along the Arkansas River, affecting the River Spirit Hotel and Resort. We regret to inform you that the River Spirit Hotel and Resort must cease operations until further notice.
The Miss Oklahoma Competition has changed venues and will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa. The competition schedule will remain the same. We are currently making arrangements to re-seat all season ticket holders in equivalent seats. Please be patient with us while we finalize this. For those who purchased tickets directly from River Spirit, you should receive an email that your tickets are being refunded. You may re-purchase your tickets from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa.
All hotel reservations at the River Spirit have been cancelled. If you had a reservation at the River Spirit, this does not guarantee you a room at the Hard Rock, at this time. The Hard Rock is working to review their room availability and room rates. If the Hard Rock does not have enough rooms for what were booked at the River Spirit, we have identified several hotels in the immediate area of the Hard Rock.
Nearby hotels include, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, Holiday Inn Express and Suites, and La Quinta. There is free shuttle service from all of these hotels to the Hard Rock. While we wait on more information from the Hard Rock, you may choose to go ahead and contact these hotels to book rooms. Please be patient concerning reservations at the Hard Rock. If you try to call and make reservations now you will only be told they are sold out. They have put a block on all rooms at this time while they assess their situation. As soon as the Hard Rock is set up to receive Miss Oklahoma reservations we will let you know.
While working out the schedule for Miss Oklahoma week, there may be schedule changes. Show times will remain the same. The changes, if needed, will involve candidate check-ins, rehearsals, etc.
We appreciate all the support and extensions of offers to help us make all of this happen. The Miss Oklahoma and Miss Oklahoma Outstanding Teen competitions will go on as scheduled. Minor adjustments to the overall week’s schedule may change. We will communicate details as soon as they are finalized.
