Congratulations to all of the Community Service Award finalists. Each of the finalists sat down for an interview with members from the Kiwanis Club of Tulsa. The Kiwanis Club of Tulsa is a sponsor of the Miss Oklahoma Pageant. All of the 2010 contestants were able to attend Monday’s Kiwanis Club meeting where the awards were announced.
First Place and a $1,000 scholarship went to Megan Johnson, Miss Eastern Oklahoma County. Johnson’s platform is “Making Memories for Children with Disabilities.”
Second Place and a $500 scholarship went to Talia Berning, Miss Tulsa. Berning’s platform is “Sexually Transmitted Diseases.”
Third Place and a $300 went to Emoly West, Miss Edmond LibertyFest. West’s platform is “Leadership and Character Development.
“The Miss America Awards were also announced today.
The Miss America Scholastic Achievement Award and a $1,000 scholarship went to Cali Crissup, Miss Northwestern Oklahoma State University.
The Miss America Community Service Award went to Talia Berning, Miss Tulsa.
